Perform a number of inspecting duties involving in-process parts, raw materials and finished products. Read and interpret customer drawings, specifications and related inspection data. Analyze data, conduct root cause analysis and identify opportunities to enhance quality and efficiency.
Coordinate with ISO Auditors when conducting audits. Generate the PCAR (Preventive Corrective Action) report and distribute to the appropriate department. Generate yearly NAFTA (North American Free Trade Act) reports for specific customers. Ability to read drawings, maintain quality documentation, train staff on quality procedures and provide guidance on quality standards. Coordinate and help in Maintaining supplier list.
Use micrometer, caliber, scale, diameter tape, alloy tester, compression test machine, and related adjustable instruments. Inspect slit steel and in-process parts, taking samplings from operations and making a complete visual-mechanical inspection, report inspection results to supervisor for final disposition. Record compression and other test results on first piece parts where applicable.
Inspect incoming materials, test reports to include fillers, sheet steel, winding materials, plated parts and others. Perform visual and/or mechanical check to ensure and/or reject incoming materials based on company standards. Conduct inspections in process audits.
Make final inspections on specialized gaskets basing checks on extremely critical commercial and military quality control standards. Inspect finished parts to include a complete visual and mechanical check-out. Record inspection results on proper forms and records. Responsible for follow-up, re-inspection and recording of results on appropriate record forms. Utilize computers to store and retrieve data and general reports, keep files current and organized.
Understand, apply and assist others in applications of statistical process control. Interact with customers to resolve their problems with products. Creating reports for presentations.
Assist customers with inquiries, quality concerns, raw materials, vendors, internal and customer audits.
Detect and report to the supervisor excessive defective material, faulty testing equipment and questionable conditions. Maintain work area and equipment in clean and orderly condition.

Operate a variety of hand and power tools. Be familiar with the use of calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and pi tape. Leadership skills.
Travel may be required. Proficient with MS office and Outlook. Attention to detail. ISO internal auditor experience and inspection background preferred.

This job is performed in a covered warehouse setting, subject to exposure of outdoor temperature conditions. Working near moving mechanical parts. Exposure to some fumes or airborne particles. Moderate noise from machinery, light traffic, and warehouse personnel.
