Overview
This position will provide Electrical and Controls engineering leadership across Fibracast product offerings for our external customers. This position will support our Project Delivery to customers including Sales, Direct and Indirect customer interactions, Vendors, and subcontractors. Work collaboratively with other Electrical and Controls staff. Potential to, train, mentor and/or supervise staff. Peer checking designs by other staff
- Developing and/or approving conceptual and detailed designs in:
- Controls documentation; PLC and HMI programs;
- Control panel designs; BOMs; Schematics; and system architectures.
- Design and specification of MCC’s and drives desirable
- Delivery of the complete controls requirements for MBR projects including controls documentation to Fibracast standards.
- Identify and implement new and alternate technologies to enhance our ability to design and delivery robust controls systems faster and at lower cost.
- Developing a clear and precise understanding of the project requirements and work plans including the defining of scope of work and program schedules.
- Coordinating with your internal customers of Sales, Application Engineering, Project Engineering; Field Service/Aftermarket Sales to develop and maintain effective products and projects.
- Complete programming audits and factory acceptance testing.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable internal standards, external codes and regulatory requirements.
- Site visits, commissioning services, analyzing field data and providing technical support to engineering purchasing, fabrication, quality and field personnel as requested and/or as required.
- Developing and implementing remote data collection and processing to facilitate warrantee compliance and plant optimization.
- Reviewing specification at or before bid and other sales support to enable business success.
- Direct, and check work by OEM partners and EPC Projects.
- Lead or participate in special projects as assigned.
- B.Sc. or CET Electrical and Controls or other technical discipline
- Minimum of 3 years, up to 15 years, controls design and programing engineering experience.
- Direct experience programming and design of Allen Bradley process controls systems
- Direct experience programming and design of Siemens process controls systems
- Direct experience programming SCADA systems
- Capable of understanding requirements identified in the technical specifications
- Ability to write control documentation including but not limited to: Control Narratives; Sequence Charts; Cause and effect charts; Alarms; Operating Sequence charts.
- Understanding of Plant integration and controls preferably in Water and Wastewater Treatment equipment & processes
- Work well in a team environment effectively coordinating internal/external contractors, customers, suppliers, and outsourced vendors
- Experience with industrial networking; remote plant operations; and remote data collection
- Ability to specify, commission, and troubleshoot motor starters, VFD’s, and MCC’s up to 200 hp
