ElectriGen is seeking a Director of Business Development, Microgrid Power with a primary focus on originating and closing microgrid power sales. This role is commercially driven and centered on customer acquisition, deal structuring, and revenue growth across ElectriGen’s behind-the-meter and microgrid power platform.
The position is highly external-facing and ideal for a proven seller who understands complex energy infrastructure solutions and can translate customer power requirements into executable commercial agreements. This role reports directly to the COO and plays a critical role in driving ElectriGen’s growth in data center, AI/HPC, industrial, and other mission-critical markets.
- Lead microgrid power sales efforts from initial customer engagement through commercial close
- Originate new behind-the-meter and microgrid opportunities with data center developers, hyperscalers, industrial customers, and mission-critical operators
- Own customer relationships and act as the primary commercial point of contact throughout the sales cycle
- Develop and present tailored power solutions, including generation strategy, fuel considerations, and commercial structures
- Drive negotiation of commercial terms including pricing, contract duration, credit support, guarantees, and risk allocation
- Advance opportunities through LOIs, Commercial Packages, PPAs, and related agreements in coordination with internal teams
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and regularly report progress to executive leadership
- Represent ElectriGen in customer meetings, industry conferences, and strategic partner discussions
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, EPC, legal, and finance teams to align customer requirements with deliverable solutions
- Engage OEMs, fuel suppliers, utilities, and strategic partners as needed to support sales execution
- Provide market feedback to leadership on customer needs, competitive dynamics, and pricing trends
- Support internal planning related to capacity deployment, market prioritization, and go-to-market strategy
- 5 or more years of experience in energy or infrastructure sales, business development, or commercial origination
- Demonstrated success selling microgrid, distributed generation, or behind-the-meter power solutions
- Strong understanding of power generation technologies, natural gas fuel supply, and commercial power agreements
- Experience managing long-cycle, high-value infrastructure sales with sophisticated counterparties
- Strong negotiation skills and executive-level communication ability
- Self-starter comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment
- Willingness to travel as required
- Direct experience selling power solutions to oil & gas markets, data center, AI/HPC, or industrial customers
- Familiarity with reciprocating engines, large block gas turbines, or hybrid microgrid systems
- Exposure to project deal structures, commercial considerations
- Houston-based preferred but not mandatory
