Job Summary
The Accounting Manager will plan, direct, and support the accounting activities of the department. Must have a working understanding of GAAP, and a full knowledge and understanding of the duties and responsibilities involving payables, receivables, prepaid, capitalized assets, balance sheet reconciliations, financial statement impact and depreciation.
· Oversees, directs, and supports all members of accounting team
· Involved in recruitment and hiring of accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations
· Identifies training needs for current staff and coordinates training programs for current and new staff
· Must exhibit strong leadership behaviors aligned with the company's, "Great 8: Leadership Core Competencies"
· Reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records
· Facilitates payments to vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies
· Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions
· Proposes metrics and KPIs to be incorporated into scorecards
· Determines proper G/L codes for daily accounting transactions
· Assists in month end processes and financial reporting
· Involved in day-to-day tasks/functions of accounts payable and accounts receivable
· Other duties and tasks as assigned by management
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
· Must be able to learn other accounting software systems
· Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
· Ability to enter data quickly and accurately
· Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records
· Accounting experience in working with multiple entities
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, on occasion
Job Type: Full-Time Pay: 85,000 -$120,000, based on experience
