BSA is hiring experienced Exploration Field Geologists, Logging Geoscientists and exceptionally talented Mudloggers for upcoming Oklahoma operations.
We are seeking driven and well experienced mudloggers, geoscientists and exploration geologists for long term production development projects, in SCOOP, STACK and Merge.
This is a multi-year project that is expected to run at least through 2027, with additional production or and exploration projects to follow.
Logging experience in Canadian County is desired.
A strong history with Woodford and Sycamore development is desired.
Your Role:
We are a consulting geology services group that hires standout talent. Typically our consultants are exiting a larger company as an hourly employee and are ready to reap the rewards of consulting service.
As a Consulting Wellsite Geologist, your primary task will be quality assurance by establishing and following protocols and best practices, resulting in the delivery of accurate, consistent and valuable data to our clients.
While maintaining sample collection standards, provide focused and detailed examination/testing of cuttings and documentation on the mudlog.
Working together with your relief, with our assistance, and guided by a program designed by our client, you and your relief will produce a highly accurate mudlog and provide insights to the geology and engineering team to drive program efficiencies.
Some projects will utilize XRF, mass spec, Revochem, sidewall cores, and a full suite of logging runs.
This area is highly faulted. Ability to profile and recall data applicable for cross fault correlation is critical.
Continuity of personnel, consistent examination, and excellent communication are the three primary requests of our client.

How We Operate:
Our wellsite geology staff are all consulting sub-contractors. You bring your PPE and knowledge, favorite scope and we provide the rest.
As consultants, we've all been around the block (multiple times) in regard to Safety, Integrity, and Professionalism. That is how you ended up here.
You will comply with all Operator requirements.
Certifications, training and Continuing Education to meet Operator requirements are provided.
We will not micromanage you. If we need to micromanage you, we failed in our hiring process.
We WILL provide feedback, maintain our standards, and exceed HSE requirements.
You will be operating as an independent contractor or consultant. An LLC or other legal entity is HIGHLY RECCOMENDED, unless you enjoy donating money to the government.
Pay is day rate based, with modifiers for add on services. (mass spec, revochecm, obm, etc)
We pay every two weeks via direct deposit.
This is 1099 compensated work, not W2 work. You will be responsible for withholding your own taxes.
On-site housing (not run down RV's or trailers) and lab space is provided.
Transportation is not provided.
This position is only open to U.S. Citizens or U.S. Residents with legal Work Authorization.
Pre-employment drug screening, employment history verification and background checks will be preformed.
A valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance will be requested.
Your entity will be added to our Insurance Policy, providing Environmental, Professional Liability, and Accident coverage
Experience with Mass Spec, core collection observation are a plus.
Revochem sampling experience is a plus.

Relevant Details:
•This position will require significant time away from home, on the location of a drilling rig.
•Housing is provided. It is not luxurious. It is a single wide mobile home.
•Transportation to and from the rig is NOT provided.
•This position does NOT have a flexible schedule. When the rigs work, we work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Arrive at job site as scheduled, with all required safety equipment and clothing.
•Assist in setup of rig side equipment and test.
•Assist in setup and testing of PC assets, gas detection hardware and software.
•Assist in Calibration of gas detection equipment to the standard of 1% C1 = 100 units.
•Obtain recent mud report and cross reference hole geometries and pump data.
•With guidance, Configure data acquisition software and test.
•Assist in set up and testing of lab equipment and sample collection equipment.
•Distribute contact information for collection of MWD and Mud Engineer data.
•Build email distribution list for the secure dissemination of reports and logs.
•During drilling operations, collect geological samples at the prescribed intervals.
•Wash, test, examine, air dry, label and describe sample results, notating any hydrocarbon shows.
•Notify rig personnel of changes made to drilling plan by the Operations Geologist.
•Immediately contact Ops Geo with any significant developments, anomalies, or changes to drilling operations.
•Establish and maintain effective communication with Directional Personnel.
•Disseminate actionable data to Directional Drillers, Geo-Steer Tech, and Operations Managers.
•With guidance, utilize correlation data to track formation progression, call designated tops and contact Ops Geo to confirm.
•Spot check hardware and software functionality to ensure accurate data with minimal corruption or lost data.
•Import collected data to the surface log as needed.
•Generate and disseminate reports and logs at requested intervals.
•Maintain accurate gas monitoring during casing operations or non-drilling operations where fluid is circulated.
•Assist in cleaning, disassembling and rigging down of all equipment.

Pay: $77,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
