SENIOR UTILITY ADVISOR – TRIBAL WASTEWATER (EASTERN US)
- 40 hours per week (12-month grant funded position with the opportunity to extend)
- Starting Salary minimum $105,000/annually
- Full Time w/ paid holidays & benefits
- Collaborate with the Moonshot Missions team of experts to deliver optimal services to utility clients by:
- Managing a portfolio of complex Tribal technical assistance projects (utilizing Moonshot's project management software platform).
- Performing in lead technical assistance roles directly with Tribal communities and guiding wastewater systems in building technical, managerial and financial capabilities.
- Performing in-depth technical, managerial and financial assessments and developing roadmaps to improve the operational performance of wastewater systems.
- Preparing project funding memos, technical reports and support materials to assist wastewater systems secure funding for capital improvements.
- Support outreach to Tribal communities in the NE and SE.
- Technical assistance to utility and internal Moonshot staff may include, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Wastewater treatment processes and collection systems
- Wastewater compliance and permitting
- Asset management and capital planning
- State and federal funding applications for capital projects
- Participate in a positive and high-performing work environment.
- Travel as needed
- Bachelor's degree in environmental/earth science, civil/environmental/chemical engineering, environmental management/studies, sustainability, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in wastewater utility operations and/or management.- Knowledge of the technical, managerial and financial functions of wastewater systems, and applied best practices.
- Ability to write technical, managerial and financial reports based on research, site assessments, data collection and engagement with wastewater systems.
- Prior project management experience and ability to handle complex projects, including budges, timelines and deliverables.
- Water/Wastewater Operator certification, Engineer-inTraining (EIT), and/or Professional Engineer (PE).
- Proficient in MS Office, and related business and communication tools.
UTILITY ADVISOR – TRIBAL WASTEWATER PROGRAM (EASTERN US)

- Collaborate with the Moonshot Missions team of experts to deliver optimal services to utility clients by:
- Conducting direct outreach to Tribal Nations in the NE and SE to expand wastewater technical assistance support among these communities.
- Supporting in-depth technical assistance project with Tribal communities and guiding wastewater systems in building technical, managerial and financial capabilities.
- Preparing technical, managerial and financial memos, assessments and other resources for technical assistance projects in Tribal communities.
- Coordinating with Tribal communities to facilitate technical assistance projects including communications, progress updates, and engaging with other community partners.
- Technical assistance to utility and internal Moonshot staff may include, but is not limited to, the following areas:
- Wastewater treatment processes and collection systems
- Wastewater compliance and permitting
- Asset management and capital planning
- State and federal funding applications for capital projects
- Participate in a positive and high-performing work environment.
- Travel as needed.
