VODA.ai is seeking a full-time remote Business Development Manager - AEC. As part of the team, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and building relationships with Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) consulting firms to drive adoption of VODA.ai's solutions. Day-to-day tasks may include strategically targeting potential clients, conducting outreach, cultivating relationships, developing new business opportunities, and expanding our footprint in the AEC market. This role is ideal for energetic and outgoing individuals with an engineering background who want to grow in sales and business development while playing a critical role in driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop and execute a commercial strategy targeting AEC firms in the water and wastewater sector that creates mutual profitability for both VODA.ai and our AEC partners.
•Build relationships with key stakeholders, including decision-makers, technical teams, and project managers.
•Present VODA.ai’s solutions through tailored demos, presentations, and meetings that align with the needs of AEC firms.
•Work directly with VODA.ai outside sales staff to present VODA.ai solutions to end-users and support the commercial efforts of our AEC partners.
•Collaborate with internal teams, including product and customer success, to ensure customer satisfaction.
•Negotiate and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
•Regularly travel to meet with clients, attend conferences, and represent VODA.ai at industry events.
•Maintain up-to-date records of sales activities, pipelines, and customer interactions in HubSpot CRM.
•Stay informed about industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging technologies in AEC and water utilities.
Requirements:
•Minimum of 3 years’ applicable engineering experience working for an AEC firm in the water or wastewater sector, working directly for a water or wastewater utility, or similar experience to show strong domain knowledge in asset management or hydraulic modeling for utilities.
•Proven track record of success in B2B or B2G sales, ideally within the AEC or related industries (e.g., water utilities or technology solutions) is preferred.
•Strong understanding of AEC firms’ business models, workflows, and challenges in the water and wastewater sector.
•Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
•Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
•Able and willing to travel up to 60%.
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
