The Reliability Programs Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining reliability strategies across a fleet of power generation assets. This role focuses on identifying and mitigating risks to asset performance and availability through structured reliability engineering practices. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives such as but not limited to Single Point of Failure (SPOF) assessments, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and optimization of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). This position requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a proactive approach to asset reliability.
Job Responsibilities
- Reliability Engineering & Risk Mitigation
- Lead and facilitate Single Point of Failure (SPOF) assessments across the fleet to identify critical vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Conduct and manage Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for major equipment and systems to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Develop and maintain asset reliability models and risk matrices to support long-term planning and decision-making. Maintenance Strategy & CMMS Optimization
- Oversee the configuration, utilization, and continuous improvement of CMMS platforms to ensure accurate data capture, work order management, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Collaborate with site teams to standardize maintenance practices and ensure alignment with reliability goals.
- Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement. Fleet-Wide Reliability Programs
- Develop and implement fleet-wide reliability programs, KPIs, and dashboards to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Support outage planning and execution with reliability insights and lessons learned.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and OEMs to resolve chronic reliability issues. Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to site reliability engineers and maintenance teams.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and training sessions on reliability tools and methodologies.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to senior leadership with clarity and impact.
- Proven experience with SPOF assessments, FMEA, and CMMS platforms (e.g., Maximo, SAP PM, eMaint).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Python, or similar) for reliability reporting and decision support.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 55000, API RP 581, and NFPA 70B
- Minimum 7 years of experience in reliability engineering or asset management in the power generation sector
- Strong understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), root cause analysis (RCA), and asset lifecycle management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial
- Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., SMRP, CRE, PMP) is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, including to remote plant locations and international sites.
