Summary

We are seeking an Power Pole Inspector to join our team at Sure Shot Environmental Ltd. A Utility Pole Tester, also known as a Power Pole Inspector, is responsible for assessing the structural integrity and safety of utility poles

Responsibilities

•

Inspection and Assessment: Conduct thorough inspections of utility poles to identify decay, damage, or structural weaknesses. This involves methods such as sounding with a hammer, boring to detect internal decay, and excavating around the pole to assess below-ground conditions.

•

Data Collection and Reporting: Accurately document findings, including measurements and observations, and compile detailed reports on the condition of each pole.

•

Maintenance Recommendations: Provide recommendations for remedial treatments, repairs, or replacements based on inspection findings to ensure the continued safety and reliability of the utility infrastructure.

•

Safety Compliance: Ensure all inspections and related activities comply with safety regulations and standards, maintaining a safe work environment.

•

Collaboration: Work closely with utility companies, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate inspection schedules and maintenance activities.

Requirements

•

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in utility inspection or a related field is advantageous.

•

Experience: Previous experience in utility pole inspection.

•

Skills: Strong attention to detail, proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, and excellent report-writing skills.

•

Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, perform physical tasks such as climbing poles or working at heights, and lift equipment as needed.
