This is specialized clerical work, performing substantive processing work, in the area of specialization. A position in this class independently prepares, carries out and takes definitive action regarding processes and functions that are integral parts of the organization's mission. Work includes duties in the area of specialization that require some subject matter knowledge beyond those of terminology, format or information sources. While the primary emphasis is on the personal performance of substantive processing work in a specialized field, this position may be required to provide periodic oversight of other lower-level clerical positions in the absence of the Financial Operations Manager. A position in this class is differentiated from those in related classes by the incumbent's individual responsibility for independently accomplishing and accounting for substantive processes and actions.
A position in this class is expected to work independently to carry out specialized tasks within the Bureau of Collections.
Responsible for preparing the daily deposit which includes verifying the daily receipts for lower-level clerical positions, as well as electronically depositing checks.
Responsible for the electronic filing and satisfying of criminal liens, and preparation of written correspondence regarding criminal liens for outside financial agencies.
Oversee lower-level clerical staff in the absence of the Financial Operations Manager.
Review and approve the transfer of payments to escrow when requested by other offices for the purpose of adjusting previously assessed court costs.
Process payments, including the monthly ACT payment from the Department of Corrections.
Assist defendants at the front counter which can include dealing with difficult clients and complaints, and identifying defendants with warrants and requesting apprehension of those defendants.
Answer incoming calls, which includes documenting the nature of the phone call.
