About This Job

2025 Summer Intern – Compliance/Internal Controls

The Compliance Function has two key objectives:

•

The Annual CSOX/ Internal Control program - Designed to support Management in its ongoing responsibility for internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and to comply with the Canadian regulatory requirements (NI 52- 109). This includes conducting an annual evaluation of the design and operating effectiveness of Ensign’s ICFR based on the Committee of Sponsoring Organization of the Treadway Commission (COSO) Framework.

•

Providing the business with a value-add resource.

Summer Intern assigned tasks may include:

•

Understanding how processes work and updating process documentation as required,

•

Re-performing activities / controls,

•

Reviewing and assessing the adequacy of existing process, concluding on the design and effectiveness of controls,

•

Making recommendations for process and/or control improvements,

•

Assisting in the preparation of deliverables and reports,

•

Assisting with the 2025 Compliance program,

•

Assisting with ad hoc projects as required.

Key candidate attributes:

•

Enrolled in or completed post-secondary education and pursuing the Canadian CPA designation.

•

Has an interest in pursuing Internal Controls and Compliance and obtaining the CIA (Certified Internal Audit) accreditation.

•

Ability to easily adapt and prioritize, demonstrating project management skills to handle changing priorities.

This role requires that you are legally entitled to work for Ensign in Canada for the intended duration of the offer/contract.
