Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Assistant will support the operations of the Foundation, including program implementation, the management of the Foundation’s social media activities and facilitating the creation of marketing collateral in support of CNEF programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Take a lead role in the implementation of the Foundation’s Smiles on Faces Program, which provides all-expense-paid visits to the CNE for 25 critically ill children and their families
•Liaise with Smiles on Faces Program charity partners, sponsors and donors, as well as participating families, in order to make arrangements for the CNE visits, including on-site supports for children with mobility limitations
•Develop and post social media content to help build general awareness about the Foundation, as well as its specific charitable programs
•Facilitate the development of marketing communications pieces in support of CNEF programs to ensure they are completed on time and on budget, including briefing the CNEF’s creative agency, reviewing proofs, seeking feedback and approvals internally, and from partners, and liaising with the printer
•Select photos and write copy for marketing pieces and website content in alignment with the overall branding and messaging of the Foundation
•Support the general administration, coordination and logistics of CNEF programs, campaigns and events
•Communicate with current and potential donors and suppliers, as needed
•Assist with administrative duties including: facilitating meetings, booking boardrooms, taking phone calls, etc.
•Assist with generating reports, presentations, etc.
•Assist with measuring outcomes of programs and reporting back
•Support the Executive Director with any other projects or initiatives
•Other duties as assigned
Special Conditions
•Willingness to work in areas that may contain bright lights, loud noises and crowds of people, and in various weather conditions
•Available to work full-time during regular office hours throughout the summer, and flexible hours, evenings and weekends for the duration of the CNE event (August 15 to September 1)
•Valid Ontario G license required to operate on-site golf cart
•Ability to lift boxes/items up to 25 lbs
Qualifications & Educational Requirements
•Experience and/or education in a field related to marketing, communications and public relations would be preferred
•Experience and/or education in a field related to fundraising management would be an asset
•Previous experience working with children and families at a summer/day camp or other recreational program would be an asset
•Previous social media work experience would be considered an asset
•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
•Must demonstrate strong writing skills with ability to write engaging and optimized written content for social media and eblasts
•Ability to develop graphic and visual content for social media, including capturing photos and video, developing graphics in Canva, and creating and editing short videos
•Comfortable interacting with various stakeholders to gather background information and obtain testimonials for social media
•Reliable, enthusiastic and friendly
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, and comfortable using various social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, X, Linkedin, etc.) and online tools (e.g. Canva)

As this position is dependent on Canada Summer Jobs Program funding, applicants must meet the program’s requirements. To be eligible, youth must:
