In Western Canada, we specialize in providing wastewater treatment products and services to municipal and industrial customers. Our services include wastewater treatment support, wastewater flow monitoring, ROV pipe inspection, leak detection using acoustic and correlation devices, smoke/vapour testing, and several others. Across Canada, more than 150 municipalities and industrial companies rely on BioMaxx to help them with wastewater operations and regulatory compliance.

Job summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced technician to join our technical service and account management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in field operations, ideally in the water or wastewater management or treatment industries. As an Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for supporting our clients with their wastewater treatment operations and performing related field services.

Day-to-Day Roles and Responsibilities:

- Assisting municipal and industrial clients with their wastewater treatment operations, especially as related to the application and optimization of BioMaxx treatment solutions;

- Troubleshooting wastewater treatment problems, including review and analysis of field data;

- Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation and maintenance of wastewater systems;

- Installing, operating, calibrating, and maintaining monitoring instruments to monitor wastewater conditions;

- Extensive travel throughout BC and AB;

- Reading and analyzing measurements on monitoring equipment to support smooth operations and maintain environmental compliance;

- Completing water/wastewater infrastructure inspection studies using ROV inspection crawlers and other equipment;

- Ensure daily activities meet the health and safety requirements for BioMaxx;

- Lead technical training with BioMaxx staff and clients;

- Other duties as required.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 8 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment, power generation, utility operations or a related field;

- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and equipment is preferred;

- Excellent problem-solving skills, including for hands-on and technical problems;

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;

- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various client locations as required;

- Relevant certifications in wastewater treatment or related fields are a plus;

- Nice-to-have skills : GIS, ArcGIS, research experience

High Level Responsibilities:

- Be the face and ambassador of BioMaxx Environmental when in the field;

- Work closely with operations and account managers to provide client solutions;

- Come to management with new business development ideas or opportunities as they arise;

- Assist upper management in conferences, trade shows, and developing presentations as needed.
