Position Summary
Responsible for the safety, equipment, inspection, and assistance in overall Production operations in designated area. Act as a lead and assist the team with daily operations, monitor and report production and well information, analyze and solve production related problems, coordinate work and repairs on assigned facilities, maintain records and complete related reports. Help ensure a safe and efficient operations by handling the most complex operator duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
•
Follow all of the Safety, Health, and Environmental policies, procedures, and requirements, ensuring personal safety, safety of others, and safety of the surrounding area.
•
Lead, support, and monitor Production Operators with the completion of their assignments, production optimization, maintenance, and ensure activities performed are consistent with procedures, policies, and safety regulations governing oil and gas production.
•
Review and prioritize all work orders to plan and organize activities with the Production team.
•
Assist with ensuring that all new hires go through Short Service Employee (SSE) program training.
•
Monitor daily oil and gas production in assigned area, identify areas not operating correctly, troubleshoot complex production related issues, discuss and resolve outstanding maintenance issues with the team and management.
•
Perform general regulatory and visual inspections such as check equipment, facility, leaks, condition, gauge pressures, safety devices, etc.
•
Ensure equipment are in working order, troubleshoot various production abnormalities, and interact with relevant personnel to discuss and implement solutions to issues discovered in the field in safe manner.
•
Provide updates and make suggestions to the Production Supervisor on all pertinent information including shift activity, performance, and training needs.
•
Work together with the Flowback Supervisor to provide assistance and discuss status on jobs, equipment, scheduling, target flow rates, and potential issues to achieve desired production targets.
•
Assist and partner with Safety and Engineering to create an effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Other Duties And Responsibilities
•
Provide assistance to the Production Supervisor as necessary.
•
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, Licensure
•
High School Diploma or equivalent.
•
Six (6) or more years of experience in Production within the Oil & Gas Industry.
•
Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle.
Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure
•
Experience leading, building, and supporting a team.
•
Safety training courses and/or certifications.
Required Core Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
•
Proficient understanding of surface and/or subsurface equipment and operations.
•
High level of safety awareness, with the ability to comply with safety practices and environmental regulations.
•
Complete competency in collection, interpretation, and reporting of well data.
•
Understanding of drilling & completions.
•
Analyzes and solves complex production related issues.
•
Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing and conflicting responsibilities and accountabilities.
•
Ability to analyze normal and abnormal conditions, failures, and troubleshoot to remedy situation.
•
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Outlook, Excel, Word, etc. and use/operation of standard office equipment.
•
Good math skills with ability to interpret and calculate tank volumes, gas flow rates, etc.
•
Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
•
Ability to lead and mentor others to create a positive work environment and accomplish team goals.
•
Foster teamwork, work cooperatively and effectively with others to create a cohesive team, address potential problems timely, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
•
Ability to work professionally and respectfully with Land Owners, Operations team, and other various departments.
•
Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools.
•
Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities
•
This role will have lead responsibilities over the Production Operators in assigned areas.
•
Responsible for regularly making decisions and/or recommendations concerning:
•
Training;
•
Plan, appoint, and direct the work;
•
Appraise initial productivity and efficiency;
•
Handle initial complaints and grievances.

This Position May Be Subject To
•
Extreme cold and heat: temperatures typically below 32 o F or above 100 o F for periods of more than one hour.
•
Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions as wind, rain, snow, and humidity.
•
Noise: there is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
•
Vibration: exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
•
Hazards: includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to chemicals.
Physical Demands
•
The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
•
The employee will occasionally lift, push, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds.
•
Be able to bend, stoop, crouch, balance, etc. frequently.
•
Frequent amount of traversing through challenging terrain to evaluate project sites, conditions, manually inspect slopes or perform work.
•
Handling and Moving Objects: Handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Travel Requirements
•
Minimal travel may be required to other locations.
•
Frequent travel to Company’s field operations and/or offices. Approximately 70%.
