Our facility operates a state-of-the-art shredder and downstream processing system, and we are looking for a results-driven Plant Manager to oversee its operations.
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager will be responsible for leading the shredder and downstream operation, ensuring optimal efficiency, safety, and productivity. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong operational knowledge in scrap metal processing, shredder maintenance, and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
•Oversee daily operations of the shredder and downstream processing systems to maximize throughput and efficiency.
•Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce downtime.
•Lead and manage plant personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
•Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
•Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure proper upkeep and preventive maintenance of equipment.
•Monitor production metrics and adjust processes to meet operational targets.
•Manage inventory, supply chain logistics, and vendor relations for operational needs.
•Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among employees.
•Work closely with senior management to align plant operations with company objectives.
Qualifications & Experience:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in scrap metal recycling, heavy industrial operations, or a related field.
•Proven experience in managing shredders and downstream processing systems.
•Strong leadership and team management skills.
•Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting.
•Knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, and safety best practices.
•Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and implement process improvements.
•Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field is a plus.
•Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
•Mechanical or electrical knowledge of shredders and downstream equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
