The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer/Advisor to join our Reliability Team supporting our Voisey’s Bay Mine Site. Relocation to the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this role.


This is a permanent hybrid position working a Monday to Friday schedule based out of the St. John’s, NL Office with regular travel to the Voisey’s Bay Mine Site as required.



As a Senior Reliability Engineer/Advisor you will be responsible for delivering improved performance of the assets by implementing and optimizing the reliability program for surface and/or underground operations. Your experience and skills will be pivotal in our journey towards achieving World Class Reliability at the Voisey’s Bay Mine Site.




Additionally, in this position you will:

Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to reduce the likelihood of system failures and extend the life of equipment.
Leverage cutting-edge technologies to refine maintenance strategies, prioritizing predictive maintenance to foresee and avert equipment failures.
Gather and evaluate data on system performance, breakdowns, and maintenance tasks to identify patterns and areas needing enhancement.
Conduct thorough investigations to determine the root causes of failures and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to incorporate reliability principles into the design of new products and systems.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly reviewing and updating reliability practices, and staying informed about the latest industry standards and technologies.


About You


Education:

Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree or 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma is required.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with PEGNL would be preferred.




Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of Reliability experience.
Previous Reliability experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
Demonstrated experience applying RCM principles is considered an asset.
Experience in Reliability Based Inspection, Reliability Centred Analysis, and Reliability Systems Analysis software.




Skills:

Strong computer skills in SAP would be an asset
Broad knowledge in the repair of fixed plant assets and mining repair facilities.
