- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and tooling adjustments for machining operations
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools as needed for assembly or modifications
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering teams on design improvements involving SolidWorks or CAD models
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize production efficiency
- Assist with plastics injection molding processes when required
- Operate forklifts for material handling as necessary
- Proven experience as a Machinist or similar role within manufacturing environments
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as Fanuc or similar controls
- Strong understanding of GD&T principles and blueprint reading skills
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming, and SolidWorks or CAD software is preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes, tooling selection, and assembly techniques
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs accurately
- Familiarity with CNC lathe and CNC milling machine operation
- Knowledge of basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations
- Experience with welding, hand tools, power tools, tooling setup, and maintenance tasks
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when required
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and plastics injection molding processes is a plus
This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic manufacturing environment where precision craftsmanship is valued. The successful candidate will demonstrate technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality in all aspects of their work.
