As the Yoder Operator, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the Yoder machines are producing parts as needed for various areas within the company. You will play a key role in machine setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to keep production running efficiently. The role requires versatility, as you will perform a variety of tasks, including machine operation, repair, and equipment maintenance, while also collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production targets.
- Operate and monitor Yoder machines to produce parts according to specifications.
- Adjust rollers and other equipment to ensure proper functioning and accurate production.
- Set up machines for daily operations, ensuring the correct components and settings are used.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure they are functioning at optimal levels.
- Disassemble and repair machinery as needed, including troubleshooting issues and making necessary adjustments.
- Assist in mounting and adding components to machinery to improve performance.
- Prioritize tasks based on production schedules and part requirements.
- Ensure that parts are produced in a timely manner and meet quality standards.
- Monitor production and adjust processes or machines as necessary to meet changing priorities.
- Monitor the quality of parts produced to ensure they meet internal and external standards.
- Address any defects or issues with parts immediately, reporting to supervisors as needed.
- Make adjustments to ensure continuous production of high-quality parts.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate production schedules.
- Collaborate with coworkers to meet deadlines and solve any production issues.
- Provide updates on machine performance and part production as needed.
- Operate forklifts to move, locate, stack, and count materials as needed for production.
- Ensure materials are stored properly and are easily accessible for machine operation.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Experience & Skills:
Experience in manufacturing or machine operation is preferred but not required.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
Forklift operation experience is a plus.
Problem-solving and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a noisy and sometimes dusty environment.
Must be able to work in varying temperatures and perform physical tasks such as disassembling equipment.
- Environment:
The work environment is dynamic, requiring flexibility and attention to safety standards. There will be occasional dust and noise due to machine operation.
- Teamwork:
This role involves both independent and collaborative work. Strong communication with co-workers and supervisors is essential to ensure production targets are met.
- Safety:
Strict adherence to safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots, is required. You will be trained on safe practices for operating machines and forklifts.
- Key Performance Indicators:
Job performance will be measured by the quantity of parts produced, adherence to production schedules, and machine uptime.
The quality of parts produced and the ability to meet deadlines are also critical performance metrics.
- On-the-Job Training:
Initial and ongoing training will be provided to help you learn the ins and outs of the Yoder machines and manufacturing processes.
