Wire EDM Operator

Location: Woodbridge, ON Type: Full-time, on-site Experience Level: Mid to Senior

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Wire EDM Operator with extensive Manual Mill experience to join our growing precision machine shop. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, problem solving, and producing high-quality parts in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

You will work closely with engineering and CNC teams to support tooling, fixtures, prototypes, and production parts across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to produce precision components

- Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and specifications

- Perform basic programming edits and offsets at the machine

- Set up and operate manual milling machines for tooling, fixtures, and secondary ops

- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measuring tools

- Maintain tight tolerances and consistent quality standards

- Troubleshoot machining issues and suggest process improvements

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

- Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and engineers as needed

Required Qualifications

- 3+ years experience operating Wire EDM machines - 3+ years experience with manual milling machines

- Strong understanding of machining fundamentals and tolerances

- Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawings

- Comfortable working in a high-mix, low-volume job shop

- Strong attention to detail and quality

- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Nice to Have

- Experience with tooling, die work, or complex fixtures

- Basic CNC machining knowledge

- Experience in automotive, industrial, or automation components

- Ability to suggest fixturing or process improvements

- Russian-speaking ability is considered an asset
