The Welding Quality Technician ensures that welding workmanship, processes, and finished components meet engineering specifications, industry standards, and Badger’s quality expectations. The role performs in-process inspections, documents nonconformances, supports root cause investigations, and provides on-the-floor guidance to welding personnel to promote consistent, high-quality results. This position collaborates with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify systemic issues, prevent defects, and drive continuous improvement across welding operations.

- Performs in-process welding inspections and audits to verify compliance with engineering drawings, applicable work instructions, and acceptance criteria as defined by CSA W59, W59.2, and related standards.
- Initiates Quality Incident Reports (QIRs), ensures accurate documentation, gathers relevant information, and tracks corrective and preventive actions to resolution.
- Provides on-the-floor feedback, coaching, and clarification to welding personnel to support consistent workmanship and continuous improvement.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Journeyperson welder certification or equivalent hands-on fabrication experience.
- Experience in heavy equipment, heavy mobile manufacturing, or structural fabrication (Hydrovac experience considered an asset).
- CWB Welding Inspector Level 1 or ability to obtain within six (6) months.
- Ability to move throughout production environments, use standard office and inspection equipment, lift up to 50 pounds, and maintain clear vision, hearing, and effective communication for safety and work performance.
- Ability to travel occasionally for training, meetings, or business needs.
