We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Welder Helper to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will assist our welder in various tasks related to welding and fabrication, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. This role is essential for supporting the welding team in achieving project goals efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

- Assist welders in preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.

- Paint welded assemblies with spray gun.

- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to support welding operations.

- Help with the setup and operation of welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, and stick welding machines.

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and ASME codes & standards to understand project specifications.

- Support the fabrication of metal components, including ductwork and other structures as required.

- Perform basic math calculations to ensure accuracy in measurements and material cuts.

- Assist with rigging and lifting materials using cranes or forklifts as needed.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations at all times.

- Participate in quality control checks to ensure that all work meets company standards.

Experience

- Previous experience on construction sites or in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

- Familiarity with various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, stick welding, and soldering is advantageous.

- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers for precise measurements.

- Knowledge of fabrication processes, mechanical systems, and assembly techniques is beneficial.

- Ability to operate machinery such as press brake machines and plasma cutting equipment is a plus.

Pay: $22.46 - $27.04 per hour
