Job Opening: Welder / Fitter – Industrial Metal Fabrication Shop
Shift: Monday - Friday (and Saturday half-day, as needed) 6:30 am – 3:00 pm
We are a leading industrial metal fabrication and welding shop specializing in custom-built components for a variety of sectors including construction, manufacturing, and heavy equipment. Our team is growing, and we are looking for a skilled Welder / Fitter to join our high-performance crew.
- Read and interpret complex assembly drawings, weld procedures, and weld symbols.
- Fit and assemble metal components using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures prior to welding.
- Ensure all work meets dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform tack welding and assist in final weld preparation.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, cutting torches, plasma cutters, and saws.
- Inspect finished assemblies for accuracy and conformance to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.- 3+ years of experience in a welding/fitting role in a fabrication environment.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Flux processes.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, GD&T, and weld symbols.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares with precision.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (e.g., overhead cranes, forklifts).
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments.
- Welding certification (CWB, AWS, or equivalent) is a strong asset.
- Experience with custom fabrication and one-off builds.
- Knowledge of fabrication math and layout techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
