SummaryThe San Jacinto River Authority is seeking to fill the position of Wastewater Utility Operator for the Woodlands Division located in The Woodlands, TX. The Woodlands Division provides water and wastewater utility services to The Woodlands municipal utility districts. This position would operate wastewater collection, conveyance, treatment and disposal systems in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations. Some of the duties include:
•Effectively utilizes the EAM computerized maintenance management system for various components such as a workorder system, inventory control, and procedures for safe performance of maintenance tasks; assesses utilization of the EAM program by reviewing maintenance records and recommending modifications and/or replacement with alternative equipment.
•Accurately documents, organizes, and files correspondence, reports and records related to maintenance activities in the EAM system.
•Through SCADA data and physical interaction, evaluates system pressures, equipment operation and instrument treadings; advises the lead operator regarding any process adjustments conducted or required to optimize operations.
•Performs general manual labor including filling and emptying of machine bins and cleaning equipment, facilities and grounds and painting as required.
•Performs general equipment maintenance including, but not limited to, routine preventive maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments.
•Operates Authority vehicles and/or equipment for operational purposes by driving from facility to facility to conduct job duties.
•Performs various routine and non-routine field and laboratory sampling and testing (chemical, physical and biological) for process and disinfection adjustments.
•Tracks and maintains inventory; orders chemicals and supplies for plant operations.
•Follows safety regulations, policies, principles, and procedures. Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment.
•Obtains and maintains certifications in water and wastewater as indicated in the Certifications section. Once dual-certified, participates in the on-call rotations for water and wastewater systems as designated by the Operations Manager.
•This position is classified as a safety sensitive position. The individual holding this position is subject to random, unannounced drug and alcohol testing.
•This position is classified as primary essential personnel. The individual holding this position will be required to work as usual or as needed (1) during an emergency event, (2) in preparation for an emergency event, and/ or (3) during recovery from an emergency event as directed by their direct supervisor, appropriate Department/Division Manager, the appropriate Senior Level Manager, or the General Manager.

Requirements
•High school diploma or GED
•At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in the operations and maintenance of water / wastewater systems.
•A minimum of a TCEQ Class C Wastewater Operator license is required.
•Preferred Double C Groundwater and Wastewater license.
•Valid Texas Driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
