We are seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Mechanic to maintain, inspect, and repair our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. This role is critical to ensuring safety, reliability, and minimal downtime across our operations. If you are a hands-on technician who takes pride in high-quality diagnostics and preventive maintenance, we want to hear from you.
- Perform comprehensive preventive maintenance (oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, and battery service).
- Maintain detailed lubrication records and manage gearbox/crankcase intervals.
- Service tires, wheel bearings, shock absorbers, belts, and hoses for both light and heavy-duty units.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fuel, cooling, and exhaust systems.
- Overhaul brakes, transmissions, ignition systems, and differentials.
- Utilize modern diagnostic tools to resolve issues efficiently and reduce downtime.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed, including occasional metal work, cutting, and welding.
- Assist on large-scale mechanical overhauls and special projects.
- Track time, materials, and parts used for every job.
- Ensure all vehicles meet strict safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide occasional oversight or guidance to other mechanics on a rotating basis.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of automotive/power-driven equipment, lubrication systems, and shop tools.
- Tire Expertise: Familiarity with ratings and sizing for everything from sedans to heavy machinery.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret manuals, schematics, and digital diagnostic data.
- Team Player: Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the team.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Fleet or Equipment Mechanic (Light, Medium, and Heavy-duty experience preferred).
- Skills: Welding or fabrication experience is a significant plus.
- License: Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class A or B is highly preferred.
- Tools: Must have a basic set of personal tools (specialty tools provided).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to bend, crawl, and work in various weather conditions or tight engine compartments.
