UNDERGROUND UTILITY LOCATOR / UTILITY DESIGNATOR - EXPERIENCED
Job Description
We are seeking experienced Underground Utility Locators / Utility Designators. We are a dedicated team of creative problem solvers who proudly contribute to the successful completion of high-profile projects in the Washington Metro area. - Please note that Utility Locating/Designating experience is required for consideration.
Responsibilities
As an Underground Utility Locator / Utility Designator, you will determine the presence of underground utilities using electromagnetic locating equipment on various commercial construction sites in the Washington Metro area.
- Read and interpret utility maps/prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
- Operate different electronic detection equipment to locate and mark underground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits
- Provide accurate documentation and or sketches related to work
- Perform work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours

- Valid driver's license
- Good driving record
- Successful completion of background screen, drug screen
Physical Abilities
Regular use of hands and fingers to operate specialized equipment and tools; reaching overhead above the shoulders and horizontally; bending at the waist; standing and or walking for extended periods of time; hearing and speaking to exchange information; carrying 3-5 lb. electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 50 pounds or lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
Successful applicants for jobs requiring a significant degree of physical exertion are required to undergo a post-offer physical examination that evaluates their fitness and ability to perform the essential functions of the positions for which they are being considered.
