The Real-Time Trader is responsible for maximizing real-time revenues across the Company’s generation portfolio. This includes trading physical power, managing company positions in real-time, and optimizing of the renewable generation portfolio.
The Real-Time Trader serve an integral role within front office, working alongside the Analysts and Short-Term Traders of the regional trading teams. The position reports to the Manager of Real-Time Trading.
- Trade physical spot power in the DAM and RT market across the continental US (CAISO, WECC region, SPP, MISO, PJM, IESO, NYISO, ISONE)
- Bid and manage generation and physical flows into ISOs / RTOs
- Re-supply contracts and mitigate financial implications of curtailments
- Communicate daily with the regional trading teams on real time issues
- Maintain the trade capture system (record, enter and verify transactions)

- Bachelor’s degree in a math-related field (Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, Math, etc.)
- Six months in the energy field; Real-Time Trader experience preferred
- Working knowledge of OASIS transmission reservations systems, OATI tagging systems and ISO scheduling systems, preferred
- Working knowledge one or more ISOs preferred (CAISO, WECC, SPP, MISO, PJM, IESO, NYISO, ISONE)
- Advanced skills in Excel and Python would be an asset
Candidates must be willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule
