Dataco Utility Services LTD: offers an opportunity for a service-oriented individual who will be involved in providing service in the Town of Stony Plain in the province of Alberta. This individual will also be responsible for providing the occasional coverage in the town of Drayton Valley.
You will read water meters in a variety of conditions and in accordance with policy and procedures.
You will read interpret and apply information obtained from maps schedules and reports.
You will be required to work occasional evening shift according to the needs of the operation.
Minimum Requirements:
The ability to communicate clearly in the English language, both verbal & written.
Strong interpersonal skills & tact in dealing with the public and staff at all levels.
Flexibility & sound judgment.
Ability to adjust priorities under heavy workloads to meet deadlines.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to learn, retain and apply new concepts and information.
Organizational skills are a must.
Be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid Alberta Class 5 Operator's License.
Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
Preference given to those possessing directly related experience.
Technical:
Intermediate keyboarding skills; experience with PC applications.
High degree of accuracy; attention to detail.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
1. Prior to employment, you must supply a current driver’s abstract (within the last 3 months) from all jurisdictions for which you have been a licensed driver in the last 2 years. You must have no more than 6 demerits, no current suspensions and no charges pending.
2. Prior to employment you must supply a criminal background check.
3. Prior to employment you must provide negative results on a drug and alcohol test. All employees are expected to be fit for duty, free from effects of alcohol and drugs.
Compensation
Starting wage $23.22 per hour.
Plus monthly vehicle and cell phone reimbursement.
Hours of work and days off:
Hours: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday. Expected hours are 8 to 10 days per month, subject to change. The start date is on the 8th of each month. If the 8th falls on a weekend, the work begins on the first work day that falls there after. Employees are expected to work consecutive days (Mon-Fri) until the work is completed. This position will cover for another employee is currunly off work. This position could last upto 78 weeks.Closing Date: August 15, 2025
