BLOC Resources is seeking an experienced Systems Business Analyst 2 to support the Equipment Services department at The Energy Center. This role is responsible for understanding business needs and translating them into effective technical solutions that support operational and strategic objectives.
The Systems Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project managers to analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, and support the design and implementation of systems and applications.
This position will also provide support to the Equipment Services Major Equipment Request process, including managing incoming requests, processing equipment requests, and assisting with material slotting and requisition activities. The role will require working within several Southern Company systems to ensure requests are tracked, processed, and documented efficiently.
- Lead the gathering and documentation of detailed business and system requirements for system enhancements and technology initiatives.
- Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Conduct system analysis, data analysis, and process modeling to support business and technical solutions.
- Provide operational support for the Equipment Services Major Equipment Request process.
- Manage incoming equipment requests and ensure requests are processed according to established procedures.
- Assist with material slotting, requisitions, and related equipment management activities.
- Track and monitor request status to ensure timely completion and communication with stakeholders.
- Utilize enterprise systems such as STOMP (asset management system), Maximo, Oracle, and SQL-based tools to support operational workflows and reporting needs.
- Support system integrations and data accuracy across multiple platforms.
- Assist with system troubleshooting and coordination with technical teams when necessary.
- Prepare and maintain documentation including process flow diagrams, requirements documentation, and user guides.
- Maintain accurate records of system requirements, project updates, and operational processes.
- Support reporting and analytics related to equipment services and system performance.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations teams, and IT to ensure systems align with business requirements.
- Contribute to the development of business systems analysis methodologies and best practices.
- Provide guidance or support to junior analysts when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in business systems analysis, systems support, or a related role.
- Experience working with Oracle, SQL, and Maximo is required.
- Experience with Power BI is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as STOMP (asset management), Maximo, Microsoft Teams, and email-based workflow communication.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
