This position is responsible for the mechanical maintenance and preventative maintenance on all assigned facility equipment including (but not limited to) compressors, turbines, pumps and support equipment including (but not limited to) pickup trucks, loaders, vac trucks, graders, light plants, heaters and other associated facility equipment.
This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Repairs and maintains heavy duty construction equipment, including loaders, turbines, graders, backhoes, hydraulic and mechanical cranes, generators, etc. by performing the following duties.
- Reads job order and inspects equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
- Overhauls and maintains CAT, Kenworth, Peterbilt, Volvo and other makes of heavy equipment. Dismantles, repairs, and reassembles equipment using hoists, hand tools and pneumatic and electric tools. Repairs electrical equipment.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Completes suspension, brake, etc. work. Installs new ignition systems, aligns front wheels, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions and other parts.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment, and makes adjustments.
- Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools as necessary, to make and repair parts.
- Informs supervisor of any incidents involving injury, spills, equipment malfunction and/or damage.
- Clerical duties as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, supervisors, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- One to two year's experience and/or degree from a technical/vocational school in heavy duty diesel mechanics.
- Vocational/technical training in the mechanical field experience is preferred.
- Class A CDL driver's license is preferred.

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. - MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
