IT Audit Supervisorreports directly to the Manager, IT Audit and is primarily responsible for guiding the financial, operational, business process, or compliance audit toward successful completion. The important qualities that the IT Audit Supervisor must evaluate are the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of the business processes and understanding the cause/effect of identified weaknesses within processes, business units, and projects. The IT Audit Supervisor effectively interfaces with various levels of management and develops relationships that further the organizational goals. The IT Audit Supervisor may work in various roles on individual audits – Team Leader or as a functional role player. IT Audit Supervisors should demonstrate high energy and motivation to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment that continues to evolve. Flexibility, innovation, the ability to change priorities quickly, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks are required.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Client Engagements. Lead client audit engagements, which include planning, executing, directing, and completing SOX, information system, and operational audits. Complete audits in a manner that is consistent with the professional standards of conduct of the Institute of Internal Auditors and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).
- Research and Analyze. Research and analyze information technologies and operational audit-related issues. Write audit reports communicating audit observations and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Consult and Collaborate. Leverage IT audit knowledge to act as an IT audit consultant for financial auditors on integrated financial audits. Provide management, IS groups, and end-users with an informed and impartial assessment of the extent to which they may safely rely upon the Company’s Information Systems. Work with IT management to identify improvements to existing controls and/or operational practices. Participate in new systems development/implementation projects to ensure appropriate controls are incorporated.
- Evaluate and Document. Evaluate and document SOX, operational, and information systems control processes and procedures. Follow test programs to complete testing of SOX controls, operational controls, and tests of information systems controls.
- Leadership. Train and mentor staff and senior auditors and interns on the audit process. Champion Continuous Improvement. Develop and use new audit technologies e.g. Alteryx, including continuous audit (data mining), audit process automation, and computer-assisted audit techniques. Approach projects with curiosity and an open mind, and recommend cost-effective ideas and solutions.

Skills You'll Need
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or other equivalent fields.
Certifications:
CISA is required. CISSP, CISM, or another recognized IT certifications are preferred (required if candidate does not possess a CISA). Additional professional certifications are a plus.
Experience: Previous external and/or internal audit experience required. 5+ years of IT audit experience required, preferably in a public accounting firm and/or publicly traded company. Previous supervisory experience highly preferred. Cybersecurity experience preferred e.g. cybersecurity readiness, penetration/vulnerability testing, post-breach analysis. Cloud auditing experience preferred e.g. pre and post-implementation.
Technology Experience:
Broad technology experience preferred, including experience with:
- Relational databases (Oracle Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server)
- Directory services (Active Director and/or Oracle Internet Directory)
- Network security (especially auditing security administration)
- Windows Server operating systems
- Exposure to object oriented programming languages, such as Java, .Net, C++, Python (highly preferred) and R (highly preferred)- UNIX/Linux operating systems
- ETL and integration
- AWS and/or Azure computing
- Data analytics tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, ACL or IDEA
- Business ERP applications (Oracle preferred)
- Computer-assisted audit tools
- Experience with AuditBoard is a plus
- SLDC, waterfall, and/or agile development methods
Functional Knowledge:
Must possess an understanding of information systems, Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and common audit procedures and techniques. Must have a detailed understanding of IT control frameworks (COBIT, ISO, NIST, ITIL). Experience with SOX 404 IT compliance testing is required.
Interpersonal Skills:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines. Must be able to conduct meetings, resolve problems, and make recommendations for process improvements.
Organizational Skills:
Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and multiple projects concurrently. Must have a high attention to detail.
Analytical Skills: Must have excellent analytical skills. Must have the ability to analyze and evaluate technical documentation, previous reports, data, and flowcharts.
