The Student Intern – Planning Division will support daily general and operational functions within the team.

Essential Functions

- Assists the planning section in identifying and revising customer account data in the consolidated engineering system with outstanding flow commitments that have connected to the WSSC Water sewer system.

- Assists in the documentation of new developments in each of the drainage basins in order to update the sewer model, as well as GIS data.

- Assists the Planning Section with flow tracking of wastewater flows.

- Assists in the tracking of expired developments.

- Assists in an evaluation of wastewater flows in an area as compared to water usage.

- Assists in the review of water and sewer hydraulic models.

- Assists the Program Manager for the Lead Service Line Replacement Program in tracking and recordkeeping tasks.

- Assists with the Master Planning and Facility Planning efforts as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

- Experience with MS Office Suite

- Some introductory exposure to hydraulics, civil engineering, and/or environmental engineering concepts.

Minimum Education, Experience Requirements

Completion of 2+ years education in a science, engineering, or engineering technology undergraduate program.
