Under general supervision of the supervisor, storeroom, the storekeeper will perform duties in connection with ordering, receiving, inspecting, recording, storing and issuing new and returned materials, tools, supplies and equipment in designated areas. Operates material handling equipment and vehicles; loads, unloads and handles materials and supplies and delivers to designated locations and picks up materials as required.
•Adhere to, support and enforce all company safety and environmental rules, policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory control records for all materials and equipment ordered, received and/or issued. Assists in resolving discrepancies or variances and in reconciliation of problems with purchasing.
•Receive materials requiring interpretation of freight bills and delivery receipts to ensure receipt of correct materials and quantities and observation of materials to determine if damaged in shipment. Responsible for signing freight bills or delivery receipts after determining if materials delivered are correct and undamaged.
•Unload materials from various freight trucks using mobile material handling equipment and proper material storage devices such as racks, pallets, baskets or carts for proper protection of materials and to facilitate handling and storage of items.
•Obtain suppliers' packing list from materials delivered and compare with company's purchase order to ensure materials received are correct and complete. Assist in the preparation of the daily receiving report by recording all receipt transactions. Prepares an over, short or damaged report in a timely fashion for submittal to appropriate senior procurement specialist for the purpose of filing claims or making adjustments to keep accurate records.
•Store all materials safely and properly according to applicable procedures and practices. Uses bins, racks, baskets, or pallets in designated areas. Affixes inventory item codes to all inventory items and marks non-inventory items with necessary identification and disposition.
•Operate vehicles, including trucks and material handling equipment. Assure safe and proficient operation of this equipment, performance of daily maintenance checks as assigned and proper housekeeping of the machines.
•Maintain good housekeeping practices in all storage areas of the warehouse and outside storage areas. Store all materials safely and properly according to applicable procedures and practices. Including, completion of daily inspection sheets for the universal waste, gas cylinder and flammable storage areas. Storekeepers are required to complete daily inspection sheets, correcting any deficiencies when found. Copies of the daily inspection sheets are required to be filed at the warehouse and a copy is required to be turned into the safety department for review and auditing. Storekeepers are required to participate in weekly inspections of the warehouse universal waste, gas cylinder and flammable storage areas with the independent power plants procurement manager to reinforce the importance of these regulatory compliance issues.
•Issue all types of materials and supplies to authorized personnel. Use proper forms, fill material requests and complete forms in accordance with established procedures. Provide material handling service of loading and hauling of materials and chemicals to various designated job sites. Prepare, load and unload material and supplies. Provide other material handling services.
•Participate in the warehouse team performance of the cycle count system for warehouse financial controls.
•Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

•High School Diploma or equivalent.
•Two years related experience.
•Proficient knowledge of personal computer software applications, including: spreadsheet, word processing, database and presentations.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as detailed instructions, purchase orders, requisitions, policy and procedures manuals, correspondence, memos, etc. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
•Effective ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
•A valid United States driver's license is required.
