Expected salary range of $216,000 to $240,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
This role is responsible for leading a team of wholesale power originators who are responsible for identifying, negotiating and executing structured wholesale power transactions, including both load sales and generation offtake agreements, as well as leading internal deal teams for transactions. Key activities include collaborating with team and with other company leaders in order to ensure transaction pipeline is consistent with trading and company objectives, supporting team in overcoming obstacles and gaining internal support on deal execution, and supporting existing customer relationships and identification of and development of new customer relationships, consistent with Constellation objectives and gross margin targets. The successful candidates will focus on achieving financial targets and will have experience in power markets in a variety of transactions including wind, solar, load and other transactions, and including understanding due diligence on key transaction risks including pricing, legal, and credit considerations, and being able to discuss transaction and strategy details with leadership across the organization. This role is responsible for leadership of team members, providing feedback and guidance, ensuring employee engagement, that team members are compensated commensurate with the individual's performance, and providing constructive feedback to overcome performance obstacles. This candidate will leverage knowledge of the PJM, ERCOT, WECC, New York, Southeast, New England and/or MISO markets, have the ability for overnight travel, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. The Constellation Origination team is based in Baltimore at the Constellation headquarters but this role can be flexible for remote work.
- Lead oversight and performance management for their Origination team.
- Develop and implement team strategy for achieving annual gross margin targets for the business, consistent with company objectives.
- Support transactions and customer relationships internally and externally in support of team's transaction pipeline, including collaborating with leadership across the organization.
- Ensure the highest standards of regulatory compliance on the team are complied with.
- Undergraduate degree required Minimum 10 years of experience in energy industry with a focus on wholesale power markets.
- Ability to lead a diverse and high performing team in the pursuit of annual financial objectives.
- Wholesale customer-facing transactional experience with strong networking, leadership, negotiation and time management skills.
- Capability to interact successfully with leaders across the organization in support of team and company objectives.
- Knowledge of North American regional power markets including transmission and interconnection queues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Strong analytical capabilities in transaction negotiation and financial analysis of structures wholesale power transactions
- Ability for overnight travel
