Job Summary
We are seeking energetic and skilled Solar Journeymen to join our dynamic team and help lead the charge in renewable energy solutions. As a Solar Journeyman/Journeywoman, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar power systems on commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy initiatives while honing your technical skills in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including mounting panels, wiring, and fixture installation on rooftops and ground-mounted sites
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical drawings to guide installation processes
- Connect high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, and construction site machinery such as forklifts safely and effectively
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics and electrical experience to ensure optimal system performance
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, roofers, plumbers, and other trades to coordinate installation activities
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the project lifecycle to ensure safety standards and code compliance are maintained
- Proven commercial electrician experience with a strong understanding of high voltage (HV) and low voltage systems
- Extensive construction site experience with familiarity in roofing, plumbing, fixture installation, and general construction practices
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as forklifts on job sites
- Knowledge of NEC standards related to solar power systems and electrical safety protocols
- Prior experience working on roofing projects or with roofing materials is highly desirable
- Valid certifications for electrical work; additional certifications such as OSHA safety training or forklift operation are a plus
