This position is responsible for the corrective, preventive and emergency maintenance and operations for which they are qualified to safety and efficiently perform. Overtime, shift work and travel may be required. Work is performed under supervision and direction from the site manager.
•Performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance and operations for which they are qualified to safely and efficiently perform.
•Performs other technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintain a power facility.
•Ensures work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
•Must be able to perform work independently and/or in work crews. Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
•High school diploma or general education degree; with one to three years of experience or related education of power plant operation/maintenance or equivalent education and experience.
•Demonstrates basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical fundamentals of PV systems in power facilities.
•Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
•Knowledge of PC software application, including spreadsheet, word processing and database.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Ability to write routine reports and correspondence accurately.
•Ability to communicate orally, use acceptable telephone and radio etiquette necessary to communicate needs.Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including percentages, area, circumference and volume.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•Effective ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
•A valid West Virginia driver’s license is required.
•Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures, and high humidity areas
•Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment
•Requires use or wear of personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
•May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals
•Occasionally requires lifting to 70 pounds, to perform duties and responsibilities
•Performs other duties as assigned
•Work overtime and non-standard working hours – (nights) as required
•Travel required as needed (10% only for training purposes)
