We are seeking a true leader and an experienced CNC machinist to lead day-to-day machining operations in our sample production shop. This role is ideal for a high-energy, organized, hands-on CNC professional who enjoys both machining and improving how work gets done.
We recently invested in major upgrades to our CNC equipment including manufacturer-led preventative maintenance, software upgrades, and operator training. Our goal is to modernize how we machine samples and improve throughput and consistency.
We’re looking for a technician who can help lead that effort. This is a hands-on role with significant influence over shop practices, machining methods, and process improvements.
- Set up and operate CNC equipment for sample and small-batch machining jobs
- Program or modify CNC programs as needed (G-code or CAM edits)
- Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle time and improve efficiency
- Ensure jobs are run using the most efficient machining method (CNC preferred)
- Maintain clean, organized machines and work areas
- Perform routine machine care and preventative maintenance practices
- Help establish efficient shop workflows and tooling organization
- Support and mentor other technicians when needed
- Maintain consistent quality and accurate labeling of finished samples- 5+ years of CNC machining experience
- Strong CNC setup and troubleshooting ability
- Comfortable editing G-code or modifying programs
- Experience machining small batches or prototype work preferred
- Ability to independently run jobs from print to finished part
- Strong attention to detail and shop organization
- Positive, solution-oriented mindset
- Experience improving machining processes or reducing cycle times
- Familiarity with CAM software
- Experience mentoring or training other machinists
