- Perform well defined setups and non-complex operations using machinery on production hardware.
- Inspect incoming materials for defects, or damages.
- Create inventory reports.
- Inspect, clean and package outgoing finished products.
- Interpret and follow basic written instructions, sketches, drawings and documents.
- Use precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of parts.
- Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
- Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on production reports (including correct quantities) and time card system.
- Work under direct oversight.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing planning and sketches.
- Knows when to stop and ask for clarification.
- Understand proper reporting of inbound and outbound damages.
- Requires familiarity with machine tools, precision instruments and good manual dexterity.
- Required to perform shop mathematics associated with machining operations.
- Use of various saws, drills, and hand tools.
Working Conditions
Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment, and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety glasses/full face shield, hearing protection, and gloves as required.
Physical Requirements
The machine operator performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and frequent movement of the whole body, such as: lifting up to 75 pounds with assistance, balancing and handling of material. Will work in tandem and mechanical lifts of heavy metal products.
