FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shell Building and Coating
•Apply ceramic slurry and stucco (sand) to wax patterns in a controlled manner, forming the shell mold used for casting
•Ensure uniform coating thickness and strong adhesion using a dip-and-stucco process
•Follow designated drying times to maintain shell integrity
Slurry & Stucco System Maintenance
•Monitor slurry tanks for viscosity, temperature, pH, and solids
•Adjust chemical or water content as needed; report any abnormalities
•Maintain and replenish fluidization systems for stucco
Process Control and Documentation
•Accurately record lot numbers, operator IDs, and application times
•Adhere to detailed process specifications and work instructions
•Inspect for defects (cracks, delamination, etc.) and correct them
Equipment Operation and Maintenance
•Operate manual dip tanks for coating
•Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of shell room equipment
•Troubleshoot minor issues or escalate to maintenance
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance
•Use required PPE (gloves, goggles, respirators, etc.)
•Follow all safety guidelines for chemicals and ceramics
•Keep the work area clean and organized
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
•High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
•Must be able to read and write in English
•Basic computer skills required
•Preferred : Experience in investment casting and quality control
