Primary Purpose
The Senior Quality Inspector (Welding) will be responsible for ensuring that all welding activities and processes meet the required applicable standards, specifications and regulatory requirements. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, including non-destructive testing (NDT), advanced radiography, and provide expertise in identification and rectification of subsurface and weld rejects. This role involves inspecting welds, reviewing welding procedures, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations codes such as AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO 3834
Duties and Responsibilities
Engage in Health and Safety initiatives at project sites, including safety walkdowns and meetings.
Provide expertise on welding inspections techniques (AWS and ASME), NDT, Low Cardon SS, Pipe and plate Metallurgy. Lead Owner’s effort in identification and rectification of welding defects.
Conduct visual inspections of welds to ensure compliance to industry standards and project specifications
Monitor welding processes to ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.
Participate in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing.
Document and report welding defects, non-conformities and corrective actions.
Stay current with the latest welding techniques, standards, and regulations updates.
Review and interpret welding procedures, specifications, and technical drawings. ISO 9606
Conduct training sessions for welding personnel on best practices and safety procedures.
Ensure Contractor’s welding equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Education
Bachelor's Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of welding certification, education, training and experience. Required
Experience
8 years of relevant experience. Required
5 years as a senior level quality inspector. Required
LNG construction projects experience. Required
Skills and Abilities
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and specifications ASME B31.3 Advanced
Knowledge of various welding processes and techniques AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ISO 3834 Advanced
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods AWS A2.4, ASME Section IX, Intermediate
Expertise in NDT and Metallurgy ASME Section V Advanced
Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills. Intermediate

Licenses and Certifications
Certifications: AWS CWI, CSWIP, or equivalent
