Senior Joint Venture Accountant

Cardinal Energy has a full-time opportunity for a Joint Venture Accountant, reporting to the Controller. The successful candidate would have experience in the following and be able to perform their duties individually and in a team environment.

The successful candidate would have the following experience and skills:

Key Responsibilities

·   Develop strong relationships with joint interest partners and internal departments including Land, Engineering, Operations and Accounting.

·     Analysis and account reconciliation.

·     Maintain timely operated dispute resolution for partners.

·     Post all Journal Entries for Junior Joint Venture Accountants

·     Analyze Joint Venture accounts and make corrections and Reversals

·     Run the monthly Royalty Payments

·     Run the monthly JV cheque run

·     Provide accurate back-up to partners

·     Prepare T5’s and NR4’s yearly

·     Prepare and present a monthly JV AR report to management

·     Handle all Joint Venture audits

·     Mentor Junior staff

·     Strong understanding on Joint Venture agreements and Fees

Preferred Skills

·     Minimum 5-10 years in Joint Venture Accounting.

·     Strong Knowledge of EnergyLink.

·     Knowledge of Pandell JV, Pandell AFE, Pandell AP and StackDX, Petronet, Petrinex.

·     Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
