About Us:
Keystone Clearwater Solutions is a leading provider of water transfer, treatment, and automation solutions to the oil & gas industry. We specialize in high-performance systems and proprietary technologies, including our WaterForce automation platform. As part of our growth and innovation strategy, we are seeking a technical and strategic leader to oversee our Operational Technologies (OT) and Information Technologies (IT) functions.
The Role:
As the Senior Director of Operational Technologies & IT, you will lead the strategic vision, technical direction, and daily management of Keystone's automation platform, internal IT infrastructure, and related systems. This role bridges OT and IT to ensure performance, cybersecurity, and innovation across operations. Reporting to the VP of Automation, this position will lead a cross-functional team of programmers, engineers, and IT specialists.
- Define and execute a long-term OT/IT strategy aligned with business goals
- Identify emerging technologies and drive continuous improvement through performance KPIs
- Present strategy updates and investment recommendations to executive leadership
- Manage SCADA, PLCs, DCS, hosting and communication infrastructure
- Standardize architecture for scalability, maintainability, and security
- Conduct audits to evaluate system vulnerabilities and bottlenecks
- Ensure uptime and redundancy across field and corporate systems
- Coordinate stress tests and failure simulations
- Implement proactive alert systems and remote monitoring
- Establish a cybersecurity framework aligned with NIST or ISO standards
- Conduct risk assessments and penetration testing
- Lead incident response and collaborate with external vendors
- Supervise a distributed team of technical personnel
- Set performance goals and promote professional development
- Prioritize high-impact initiatives and foster a culture of accountability
- Oversee procurement and vendor management
- Track lifecycle costs, manage upgrades, and coordinate asset decommissioning
- Maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and compliance documents
- Enforce coding standards and version control
- Act as liaison across automation, maintenance, engineering, and operations
- Support business development with technical insight
- Facilitate interdepartmental coordination and knowledge sharing
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years in OT/IT leadership roles- Expertise in SCADA systems, PLCs, MQTT, Node Red, and industrial networking (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, RF, etc.)
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity protocols and risk management
- Server infrastructure management (e.g., Ignition, SQL, virtual networks)
- Strong project management, communication, and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Industry certifications in automation or cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CCNA)
- Experience supporting water transfer or oilfield services
- Familiarity with Gemini, Fieldlink, or similar platforms

Schedule:
Full-Time | Office-Based (Hershey or Canonsburg) | Travel Required
This position involves a mix of office-based leadership and travel to shop, yard, and field locations. The role may involve indoor and outdoor work and requires occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Must be available for onsite evaluations and periodic travel (local and overnight).
