Description Job Summary:
As a
Senior Cloud Engineeryou will participate in leading the design, implementation, and operation of our hybrid cloud environment, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure utilizing Landing Zone architecture. This role is critical to ensuring our cloud strategy is secure, scalable, and aligned with both IT and business objectives. You’ll play a key role in building enterprise-ready environments, driving innovation, and partnering across teams to enable digital transformation in the energy space.
Job Responsibilities
- Architect & Implement: Design and deploy cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure using Azure Landing Zones.
- Platform Engineering: Develop reusable modules and automation for infrastructure provisioning (IaC), environment consistency, and policy enforcement across multiple environments.
- Operations & Optimization: Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and availability. Implement observability, alerting, and proactive remediation using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and native tooling.
- Security & Compliance: Work with security team to implement RBAC, Azure Policies, NSGs, and other controls to enforce governance and compliance standards.
- Collaboration: Interface with enterprise architects, development teams, and application owners to support project delivery and infrastructure needs.
- Innovation & Standards: Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, assess applicability, and lead proofs-of-concept and pilot implementations.
- Hybrid Integration: Manage on-prem connectivity (e.g., ExpressRoute, VPN) and hybrid identity using Azure AD Connect and related services.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce detailed architecture documents, standard operating procedures, and share knowledge across teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related experience
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT, with 3+ years focused on cloud engineering.
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure, specifically with Landing Zone implementation and management.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform (preferred), Bicep, or ARM Templates.
- Strong background in networking, security, and identity management in cloud and hybrid environments.
- Comfortable with CI/CD pipelines and integrating infrastructure workflows into DevOps toolchains.
- Familiarity with cloud cost optimization, tagging strategies, and FinOps principles.
- Self-driven and comfortable operating with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to mentor junior team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze data, and provide innovative, scalable solutions.
Technical Skills
Preferred Job Skills & Qualifications:- Experience with AWS cloud platform and hybrid architectures is a strong plus.
- Experience with DataBricks support is a strong plus.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
- Experience in the retail energy sector, with knowledge of industry-specific challenges, regulations, and business models.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices in regulated industries like energy.
