Illinois American Water is seeking a Semi Equipment Operator to join our team in Woodridge, IL. This role will work hand-in-hand with our plant operators in helping to identify material that needs to be prioritized and hauled. The Semi Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating a variety of machinery including sludge and belt presses. You will also work with our contractor when removing solids from the processing plant. Our ideal candidate will have familiarity with wastewater systems and hold a CDL Class A license. This is a great opportunity to learn and explore the water production and operations.
This position may be eligible for annual incentive pay and contracted increases as determined by the collective bargaining agreement, and you will have the opportunity for continued salary growth.

The successful bidder will have a Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Tanker Endorsement (“N”). This position will be responsible for transporting liquid sludge to and from Chicago-Metro’s wastewater facilities, as well overseeing the liquid and biosolids processes for Chicago-Metro’s wastewater operations. With a goal toward optimizing plant operations, and with supervisory support, the Semi Equipment Operator will additionally assist other wastewater personnel with sludge management processes as well as perform facility/grounds maintenance and upkeep as needed.
