The Nacogdoches Generating Facility, located in Cushing, Texas, just 20 miles northwest of Nacogdoches, stands as a prime example of sustainable energy innovation. This state-of-the-art power plant utilizes cutting-edge biomass-fired bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler and steam turbine generator (STG) technology to deliver a robust net capacity of 105 MW. As a Scale House Operator, you will play a critical role in managing fuel deliveries by accurately weighing and recording shipments, maintaining inventory within MRP systems, and ensuring compliance with company and industry regulations. You will be responsible for conducting fuel quality checks, logging data, coordinating with drivers and procurement teams, and maintaining accurate documentation to support efficient operations. This position offers a dynamic work environment where attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to safety and accuracy are essential for success.
Your scope of responsibility as Scale House Operator will include the following primary functions:
Safety is a core value of NAES and as a condition of employment, all employees are expected to be mentally alert and work safely at all times. Additionally, employees are required to adhere to all safety warnings and posted safety signs whenever on company property. Furthermore, employees must follow all NAES safety rules and procedures. Effectiveness in carrying out this responsibility is part of the evaluation of each employee’s performance.
The Scale House Operator reports to the Operations Supervisor and takes general direction from plant management. Additionally, this position will coordinate with all other plant personnel to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions. "On call" status will be required.
This position has an available pay rate of $15 per hour.
