Summary
HMH has an opening for a 1st Shift Sandblast Operator in Houston, TX. As a leader in the oilfield services industry, HMH offers opportunities for qualified people who want to grow in our high performance organization.
The Sandblast Operator position requires skills developed through formal training or work experience, high attention to detail and safety. You will work within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify approach and must complete assigned tasks with a moderate degree of supervision.
Job Requirements
•Perform work in compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality expectations while supporting a production schedule.
•Execute daily priorities as defined by the supervisor or area lead.
•Sandblast material using different grades of media in accordance with work order documentation and engineering specifications.
•Support other special processes including but not limited to masking, phosphate coating, product assembly, and prep for shipment.
•Inspect material for visual defects and accurate markings.
•Utilize jib and overhead cranes to assist in material movements.
•Complete all required documentation.
•Support continuous improvement and HSSE projects.
•The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 30 lbs and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
•Ability to apply basic written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to apply concepts of basic math and basic PC skills.
•Ability to read and comprehend instructions, work orders and drawings.
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
•Ability to work, focus and thrive in a very fast paced and noisy work environment.
•Ability to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
•Ability to safely operate a forklift and/or overhead crane while loading or unloading production parts.
•Maintain regular and reliable attendance and performance to meet production and business needs.
•Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.

•Performs additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
•High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years related experience in blasting operations.
Desired Characteristics
•Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•Experience working with offshore drilling equipment, specifically BOP and wellbore equipment.
•Strong oral and written communication skills.
•Strong work ethic and adherence to processes and policies.
•Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
Additional Information
•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
•No relocation assistance.
•This position is not climate controlled and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
•6:30AM – 3:00PM Monday through Friday (with overtime as required – shift will begin earlier than 6:00AM and/or end later than 2:30PM), some Weekends from 4:00AM – 1:00PM.
