The SXEW Shipping Clerk will provide administrative support to the SXEW-Leaching Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used.
- Studies shipment schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
- Responsible for the daily shipments of Asarco Ray Copper Cathodes by truck or rail.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interprets job orders to workers involved with the weighing and loading of cathodes.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Recommends measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Interact with Purchasing, Accounting, Traffic, and Metals Department.
- Assist Metals Department on end of month inventory of copper cathodes, copper starter sheets, and copper scrap in Tankhouse.
- Daily inventory of operating supplies to ensure essential materials are on hand at all times (starter sheets, banding material, etc).
- Provide administrative support for process record keeping.
- Insure that all truck drivers follow all Ray mine safety and health standards.
- Review daily production numbers and verify weights with Ray Metallurgical Secretary.
- Verify cathode and starter sheets inventories after deliveries and shipments.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Confers with other Supervisors, General Supervisors and Metallurgical Engineers to coordinate activities.
- MIMS, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Requires the ability to do multiple tasks.
- Requires at least two (2) years of related experience or equivalent.
- Must have high school diploma or GED
