- Compensation: $60-74/hour DOE
- Location: Sabine Pass, TX
- Assignment Duration: 12 months+ - Work Schedule: M-F / 40 hours+- Benefits: Comprehensive insurance with 401(k), PTO and holidays
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry
- Demonstrated mechanical and maintenance expertise with rotating equipment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical expertise
- Ability to support root cause failure analysis
- High School diploma or GED required
- Responsible for first pass troubleshooting for equipment repairs, problem equipment (bad actors) and repair scoping/alternatives decision. Support Predictive Maintenance Technicians for identified vibration and troubleshooting issues (Specialist is ultimately responsible for vibration repair decisions)
- Maintains ongoing communication with execution FLS, area machinery planner and Operations Coordinator repair/condition of in-service equipment (Vibration Watch List). Collaborates with Machinery Engineer for field activities, repairs, etc
- Provides the repair scope to planner/execution and supports machinery workflow. This includes collaboration with the outside shop inspector for all offsite machinery repairs
- Work ticket description reviewed and validated by field inspection/troubleshooting for location and basic scope determination. Specialist then provides updated info to the planner/execution
- Make repair recommendations, with hold points/inspection requirements in the scoping phase of workflow when possible. Responsible for Repair/ installation procedures (special equipment particularly). Ensure specifications/procedures are correct, documented and are available to machinists and outside shops for repairs
- Utilizes Management of Change (MOC) system to implement improvements as needed
- Follows critical repairs in shop/field work and outside shops (as required)
- Responsible for MOC communication and scope/recommendations for all repairs
- Approve scope, estimate, and approve SES’s for outside shop repairs. After initial pre-work inspection (post tear down, FEWA, etc.), provide repair scope, hold points, and inspection requirements
- Provides/Confirms data needed for all repairs as necessary. (any specs/parameters needed for repairs, etc.). Assist in the Repair QC for Field/Shop repairs. Assists outside shop inspector with QC of outside vendor repairs as needed
- Assist with creation of shipping documentation/coordination with Outside Shop Inspector as needed
- Responsible for repair closeout and update of equipment records
- Performs RCFA on all lower level failures and reviews RCFA and associated recommendations with Operations, and area machinery engineer
- Participates in investigations involving rotating equipment and associated follow up items. Maintains oversight of rotating equipment record systems. Assists with the specification and requests for critical spare parts for the area machinery as determined by reliability analysis or the business team
- Supports stewardship of area rotating equipment performance. Helps steward final review of package and its return to the records storage (e.g. Completed FEWA’s, any PMI documentation, Repair Packets from Field/shop repairs, and Outside Vendor Repairs.) before entry into record systems
- Supports oversight of the equipment PM’s identifying additions, deletions, or interval modifications. Supports reliability/engineering as needed for bad actor updates and annual plan development. Creates and/or updates specific mechanical procedures as needed with engineering/execution engagement.
- Be actively involved in bad actor resolution, etc. Participates in RCM’s, RBWS’s, ES’s, etc
- Support project and T/A machinery activities (Primarily design and installation input, and inspection) as agreed with T/A and Project Management
- Verify and perform quality assurance checks and that specific steps outlined in the Quality Assurance Manuals are taken during construction. Provide input to scope development, selection of equipment, and justifications for projects. Provide input to worklist development and justifications for T/A events. Provide input to planning, selection of equipment, and execution for annual maintenance type projects. Involved in installation, SAT/FAT and commissioning activities. Responsible for development and interval of area equipment PMs
- Supports continuous improvement, rotating equipment strategies, and procedures
- Determination, creation, and documentation of needed special procedures for machinery
- Contribute to long range improvement plans based on site experience and historical knowledge. Lead technical field implementation of plans. Provide inputs to equipment strategy development and updates based experience and historical knowledge. Manage equipment strategy task implementation as part of equipment strategy stewardship
- Networks with other rotating equipment specialist from across the circuit. Provide input into the creation of, assist with, and participate in implementing Operator training. Provide inputs to risk screening based on extensive equipment and site knowledge
- Support field inspections and verifications of risks identified in HAZOPs, risk screening, and safety studies. Initiate simple MOCs (not requiring complex engineering) as required for changes in field and shop. Use appropriate system to manage change, seeking Machinery Engineering endorsement as required
