Facility Contract Services (FCS) is a Florida-based contract services company that employs and manages personnel for municipal clients. Our staffing services include administrative support, clerical, accounting, payroll, billing, accounts payable/receivable, purchasing, human resources, supervisory roles, utility services, water and wastewater plant operations, property and general services management, building and landscape maintenance, parks and recreation, and senior and community services. FCS specializes in municipal privatization through a task-based approach aimed at improving productivity and efficiency.
Under the general direction of the Recreation Supervisor II, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in coordinating the operations of the Pembroke Lakes Tennis Center. This includes maintaining program and facility safety, and supervision of programs, operations and personnel related to the Pembroke Lakes Tennis Center. Also included is assisting with facility operations of Golf on an as needed basis. Work is reviewed through results, performance evaluations, conferences and written reports for adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Assists in facility oversight; schedules and supervises use of facilities by participant groups.
- Assists in communicating plans, policies, and procedures.
- Assists in overseeing collecting of and accounting for fees, charges, and disbursements; deposits collected monies; maintains records of revenues, expenses, and deposits; trains staff proper procedures for handling City funds.
- Assists in issuing written and oral instructions; assigning duties and examines work for conformance to policies and procedures.
- Addresses public and civic organizations which will inform the public of policies, procedures, and the availability of facilities for public use. Responds to inquiries and complaints from the public; arranges for public notification of programs and events.
- Works with staff, professional instructors and trained volunteers initiating and implementing programs.
- Assists when needed in the planning and operations of special athletic events including tournaments, athletic events, etc.
- Assists when needed in coordination of community-wide fund raising activities to support and expand leisure service programs.
- Assists in performing inspections of recreational facilities, checks operation, condition, safety and security of equipment and facilities; assist in coordinating periodic maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
- May order and inventory supplies and equipment.
- Assists in the preparation of departmental budget.
- When needed, assist in the coordination of City special events and assigned administrative work.
- High school diploma or GED; supplemented by education or experience in
Recreation or Leisure Services or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ability to drive or valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of community leisure services administration.
- Knowledge of safety practice and procedures as applied to recreational and athletic programs.
- Knowledge of a wide range of recreational and athletic activities and related facilities and equipment.
- Considerable knowledge of community recreation needs and resources.
- Ability to coordinate, analyze, and utilize a variety of reports and records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, other agencies, and the public.
- Ability to develop effective publicity programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Regularly perform tasks that require physical stamina, including prolonged standing, walking, and potentially lifting or carrying objects.
- Many duties involve these activities, including interacting with participants, supervising activities, and moving around facilities.
- Positions may require frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and crouching to access equipment, set up activities, or supervise programs.
