- Comply with all Imerys, MSHA and Equipment Manufacturing Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Read quality specification. Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety, and efficient operation, and to detect malfunctions.
- Move controls to start, stop, or adjust machinery and equipment that crushes and grinds materials.
- Record data from operations, testing, and production on specified forms and complete required forms.
- Examine materials products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
- Perform tests applicable for process or product being produced, set mill gauges to specified fineness of grind.
- Pull samples periodically for lab to garuantee samples fall within required specifications.
- Clean and adjust equipment using hand tools.
- Notify supervisors of needed repairs.
- Recognize defective products and readjust equipment to eliminate problems.
- Able to understand and follow mill work instructions to ensure proper workflow and finished goods.
- Able to climb up and down stairs/ladders and manuver around equipment and tight spaces.
- Receives Loading instructions on MSS on bulk loading shipments.
- Verify and written tank/truck and load numbers to ensure car placement accuracy based on written or verbal instructions for loading of correct product.
- Operate loading equipment, hoists, and other specialized material handling equipment for loading or bulk or railcars.
- Check conditions and weights of vessels to ensure cleanliness and compliance with loading procedures.
- Monitor product movement to and from storage silos, coordinating activities with other workers to ensure constant product flow.
- Pull test samples for quality control purposes.
- Seal outlets and top valves on tank cars or railcars for proper containment of product.
- Proper use of PPE; hard hat, eyewear, steel toe shoes and 5-point safety harness to ensure personal safety.
- Any other job duties assigned by management.
