· Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his/her duties in a safe and efficient manner.
· Accountable for the performance of drilling activities.
· Prepare and submit reports or requests as required.
· Make required adjustments to the operational settings of the drill and supporting equipment to compensate for ground conditions.
· Connect various components on the drill as required.
· Read and interpret engineering plans to set up the drill and assemble the components.
· Perform and/or assist in minor repairs as required.
· Must be able to follow proper procedure to ensure safety and to control equipment damage.
· Ensure that daily maintenance is carried out before commencing drilling activities.
· Ensure that hydraulic hoses and electric cabling are suspended separately
· Transported Hydraulic & Electrical Packs without being damaged.
· Conduct daily check list on machine and ensure equipment is operating within spec. report any deviations immediately to Supervisor.
· Record hour meter reading in operators report book before commencement of drilling operations.
· NORCAT Surface & Underground Common Core (REQUIRED)
· A clean criminal records check is mandatory prior to hiring.
· Be mechanically inclined and have good problem-solving skills.
· Have a good understanding of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
· Pre-employment medicals and drug screening are mandatory prior to site access.
· Must be willing to learn and participate in on-the-job training.
· Ability to work night and day shift is a requirement.
· Must be able to work in high traffic areas and in close proximity.
· Must be able to work on a 14/14 rotation basis (subject to change).
· Must be local, living in Timmins or surrounding area.
· Must be a team player and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
All successful applicants will be required to work a two-week on, two-week off rotation schedule.
